Our complex digital world causes our senses to be constantly bombarded from all directions. The result is Busy Brain Syndrome (BBS) – where the brain runs out of processing bandwidth causing people to increasingly operate on ‘autopilot’.
We think we are ‘clever’ and at the top of the ‘species food chain’ with our BIG brain – true – with a giant CAVEAT. That big brain has a narrow fixed input system which is below conscious awareness – for good reason. BBS or overload causes that narrow input system to jam-up leaving the clever brain dormant.
BBS manifests as lack of focus, poor ability to pay attention, constant distraction, relentless ‘mind stories’ (monkey mind)’, stress, overload, overwhelm, not getting things done, rampant political correctness. BBS (autopilot) is the ‘root cause’ of accidents, incidents, poor behaviours, silo mentality, miscommunication, avoidance behaviours and decision paralysis.
Awareness is shut down, people are NOT focused on what they are DOING
